A FIREFIGHTER'S LAST WORDS

Have you checked the smoke detectors?

Are the fire exits clear?

I’d really like to keep you safe

While you’re all sitting here

I do hope some practical joker

Didn’t dress me up in my fireproof gear

If I’m at a crematorium

We might be a long time here

The graveyard would be a safer bet

With god’s sprinklers shedding a tear

Now to end my last shift

I don’t want to waste your precious time

My deepest love to dearest family

Colleagues and friends of mine

So please send me off in a blaze of glory

A fitting end to a firefighter’s story

Three cheers for firefighters!

HIP HIP HOORAY!

HIP HIP HOORAY!

HIP HIP HOORAY!
